Is there any other country that requires their children to pledge their allegiance to the country flag and God every morning in school? As a kid you never realize how weird it is, it just “is”. Looking back it starts to feel pretty gross
Not sure if this is still the case but in Greece every morning the entire school would get together for morning prayer but the national anthem was reserved for special holidays.

The previous Government, Syriza, tried to change it, but the far right and the political liars of the Nea Dimokratia started a "war" so we still have the pray every morning
