Pro tip: in your out of office, say that email will be deleted. Leave an emergency contact for urgent business. Then actually do it. If it was important but not urgent, they will mail again. If it was urgent, they need to contact someone else. If it wasn't important, well then.

There is absolutely no way I'm ever doing this. I get a lot of e-mails that aren't directly sent to me but are important contextual information I need to do my job effectively. If I delete those I'm just doing myself a disservice.
