I haven't played 3, but I mean, can't you say the same for KH1+2? It's always been a fairly simple game, but for whatever reasons it just 'worked' and was fun.
So far KH3 seems somewhat....underwhelming. Combat is extremely simple, controls are whack, UI looks like it was ripped from the PS2 era and I tried catching up on the story last night and all I can say is "wat"? I'll play it out until the end but initial impressions are average

I only played the 1st one but it was so long ago that I barely remember it. I remember I enjoyed it at the time but I get the feeling it hasn't evolved since. I'll see how I feel once I'm deeper into the game.
