@azgaz point of clarity - when does Call of the Nexus check the demand to give a bonus?

At the time of queue... Does that mean the moment you press the ready button or the moment the countdown starts? Once you press ready there's no way to tell which heroes are eligible for bonus exp anymore, so if in-demand heroes change, you wouldn't know

I mean that’s the intuitive interaction, adding UI to clarify would only contribute to clutter.
