Yeah, after recruiting a few, I looked at the map and thought to myself "Do I HAVE to recruit everyone??"
So far Octopath Traveler is mostly fun but having to run around recruiting everyone is a bit tedious. We'll see what happens at the higher levels.

At this point I'm rotating my 4th to see who I want to keep but since the levels for Chapter 2 are so high, I'll just grab everyone and then decide on a final party.

Is it true that there's like... zero real interaction between the characters? They kinda just... exist together.

There is a little banter between them every now and then but otherwise it's isolated stories with a party, focusing on one person at a time.
