Fam. I have a story for y’all. First of all, for context, I’m not the kind of person who sees spirits. Like, I’ve never seen a ghost, an apparition, nary a hallucination. I don’t have seer capabilities.

The only reason I know my future is because God told me and my chi decided and we move accordingly. I actually used to be envious of my friends who were seers until I saw how stressed out they got over prophecies. But I digress.

I have a ridiculous dreamworld, I can lucid dream, all sorts of shenanigans happen when I’m reality jumping in my sleep or in that in between space, but not when I’m awake.

Early this morning, before the sun came up, I was having my usual hectic dreaming and woke up out of it lying on my back in my bed, my head turned toward my windows. There was a person sitting on the edge of my bed.

Naturally, I was startled, as per what is some nigga doing in my room?! The person looked around my age (? who knows with Black folk) and they were looking down at me with really soft eyes and smiling with a lot of love, so I wasn’t scared, but I was still confused.

Because I was definitely awake af so how????? I reached out to try and touch the person, and they faded into the dark of my room, still smiling. I lay there staring at nothing, trying to hold the memory of their face in my mind.

Later I told the seer in my family about it and she asked how I felt, etc, checking that it hadn’t been like, a malevolent encounter, uno? Much to my frustration, I couldn’t remember the dreams preceding that awake moment. So I was just like okay o, I guess someone visited me.
