The lack of response @yumcoconutmilk pointed out is why I keep saying I’m only loyal to my work. Because cis people expect everyone else to ride with you for your causes, then leave Black trans people in the dust and slither away when it’s time to reciprocate that support.
So I’m not going to pretend that the publishing industry is my community, because I know painfully well it’s not. My community is a very small circle of people and entities. The community I serve are Black trans and queer people and the primary way I serve is through my work.
