For all of you clinging to Adichie’s ‘apology’ and ‘LGBTQ activism’—there are so many resources explaining why her views are transphobic, why trans women do not actually have male privilege, why it is harmful to claim they do, but y’all are not interested in learning.
Her staunch support of JKR means that she agrees with JKR’s views, which she has called ‘progressive’ and ‘perfectly reasonable’. Those views include not letting trans kids transition, even though it’s been shown that the suicide rates drop when they’re allowed to.
This is precisely why in Pet, Jam is affirmed by her parents, supported in her gender, given access to puberty blockers and hormone therapy, because I wanted to show young trans readers what a supportive family looks like, because that is what we fucking deserve.
Because bigots pretending to be concerned about kids are denying trans kids agency and autonomy, while pretending that it won't kill these kids. Again, y'all do not care about the well-being of trans people or trans children. Fuck you so very much.
JKR views trans women as if they're predatory men trying to force access into women's spaces, which is horrifically transphobic, but CNA finds her progressive and perfectly reasonable? And you claim CNA isn't transphobic as well? GTFOH.
It's performative allyship with trans people when Black trans women are murdered, but contempt and mockery when we hold your faves accountable for the transphobia that harms them in real life and *contributes* to those murders. Y'all are truly the weakest link, my God.
