1/ One of the biggest misconceptions I see from first-time founders is what multiples they could sell their company for. So, let's talk about that a bit, in an effort to downplay the notion that you'll get filthy rich from your company.

I’m confused. How did we conclude that the best way to prepare kids for the future is to cluster them into a setting where they are organized by age, into grades, and forced to learn the same things, at the same time and pace, 7 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 12 + years? Huh?

I’ve mostly gone back to reading sci-fi nowadays. I suspect this is because sci-fi is about competent people, whereas literary fiction is about neurotic people.

Reasons why startups should price relatively high in general: 1. Easier to lower prices than raise them 2. PMF at low price doesn't mean PMF at a higher one 3. Less likely to leave money on the table 4. If your product is actually 10x better, it's worth it What else?

This guy earned $12 million because he did not see lines between ANY business. As I don’t. He packed his 2 rental homes with things that were high luxury and unique. Because of network effect just last month he sold $46k in pillows, $173k in fixtures, $24k in local honey.

The Lancet public website has peer reviewed papers stating 11% mortality rate and 33% of patients require ICU. These numbers will likely increase. We have 4 weeks knowledge? If that’s even “true”? This is a serious global pandemic- not the damn seasonal flu.

It’s ... it’s 50x more deadly, spreads more rapidly, originated next to a biowarfare lab, and has no vaccine. But sure, let’s talk about the flu. Gotta say ... the coordinated narrative control we’re seeing out of both the US and China is mighty impressive.

Some people’s endorsements are effectively the equivalent of an institutional credential—broadly accepted by their industry. Similar to Sequoia leading the round, certain well-known people’s endorsements can elicit a reaction from an entire market.

A lot of organizational design is "Ahh, what problems we could solve if we had an API that implemented the following interface; we'd consume that everywhere" and realizing that people can expose an API, too.
