The climate was ripe for Democratic gains. But the anticipated "blue wave" didn't exactly wash over the desert of Arizona.http://bit.ly/2zBLl67

??? Who ever expected Red AZ that had zero Dem statewide elected officials (0 for 12) to be “washed over” by a blue wave? What was hoped for by Dems would be much greater enthusiasm in a midterm election from Dems & Independents - enough to win some statewide races & US senate.

AZ is now purple - competitive for Democratic candidates. It was hoped that the so-called “blue wave” would turn AZ purple. I believe that has been accomplished. But let’s count all of the votes for a final analysis. And the ‘20 AZ election will be even more competitive.

It's nuts! Why are there all these decisive post-mortems when there are still so many votes to count?

Can you name the highest ranking incumbent Dem who lost a seat? Which seats currently held by Dems were picked up by the GOP? All I'm seeing is a net gain for (checks notes) Dems so far.

Progress is a process and the process isn’t complete. Ballots are still being counted, specifically because more AZs are shifting to more moderate candidates like Sinema.

AZ is not solid red. It is slowly turning toward blue. You might call it purple - similar to CO. Look at all our neighboring states - CA is solid blue, NM is solid blue, CO is somewhat blue, NV is turning blue. Only ultra conservative UT remains solid red.
