Woof this ending. The debate starts with opening statements from Watkins. He brags about “not being a politician” & calls himself an “entrepreneur” who has “been fighting for our free speech rights in the private sector” which is a weird way to say platformed child porn & nazis.

The other candidates on stage are Andy Yates and Rep. Walt Blackman. The big bullet bottle opener guy, Eli Crane, is not here which probably sucks for Watkins because that's the candidate he kept focusing on even though neither of them have a chance in hell at getting the nom.

The moderator asks Ron Watkins why republicans should vote for him and he cites his big accomplishments like… spreading election disinformation, being retweeted by Trump, and appearing on One America News Network.

Unlike his fellow AZ GOP lawmakers, Walt Blackman admits there’s no such thing as “decertification.” After Ron and him awkwardly go back and forth a bit, Blackman says he would “decertify” the election results if there was a way to do so.

The moderator asks if the candidates believe the election was stolen through fraud: - Ron obviously says yes. - Walt Blackman says yes. - Andy Yates says no BUT does support the bills Arizona Republican lawmakers have been passing to suppress voters after the 2020 election so

Ron Watkins claims the “biggest issue” in the district is the border wall, despite CD2 being nowhere near the US-MX border. Ron talks about his recent trip to the border wall and laughably claims to have scared “coyotes” off by simply looking them in the eye.

This is what he was actually doing at the AZ-MX border, btw. Having a photo shoot with his recently purchased prop guns while hanging out with conspiratorial, anti-immigrant militia Veterans on Patrol (not actual veterans btw).

Watkins is pictured wearing a white cowboy hat, black vest and black shirt. He has a thin brown mustache and brown hair sticking out from underneath the hat. Standing next to him is a woman wearing aviator sunglasses, a camouflage hat, camouflage vest, blue shirt with a red, white and blue bandana around her neck. She has red hair braided into pigtails. They are standing outside with a desert landscape behind them.

Again, here’s the candidate who is actually likely win the republican nomination:

GOP sponsor declared 'it's perfect.' Pastor who worked on bill said women should get death penalty. But top prosecutor & leading abortion opponent have now come out against it. #12News 12news.com/mobile/article

The question was about military aid to Ukraine. Ron Watkins tries to blame the Keystone Pipeline for the invasion, which elicits a response from Rep. Blackman that leaves Ron with no option but to go “he’s right.”😭

I can tell a bunch are going to be annoying about this so you can stop the DMs now, I’m not saying that *I* think Blackman is right, I’m just saying Ron was left with no option but to respond this way because Blackman immediately and forcefully shit all over his awful response.

The moderator asks Rep. Walt Blackman about his history of proposing legislation that would charge people who seek abortions and their doctors with homicide. Blackman still supports it, saying all abortions after conception should be criminally investigated. Ron Watkins agrees.

The final question is about climate change. Ron Watkins brushes the question off saying “I think we should not even talk about climate change. Not even address it. We should just get rid of the entire idea.” The moderator: “Alright, that’s an interesting way to end a debate.”
