3) Decision making and tradeoffs: This is a very delicate balance to try to learn. At bigger companies, you can work on a longer time horizon, though that doesn't often force you to make such hard cost benefit analysis choices in terms of being entrepreneurial.

4) Experimentation and validating: Probably the most valuable thing I learnt was to really pay attention to what product usage is like, not just that your code works.
