    We just heard from Giles Ward about the importance of the 2020 census. Employment Security Director Jackie Turner says MS is enjoying a lower unemployment rate in this economic upswing, but it’s still higher than our neighbors and she’s convinced the census is “key” to our rate.

    Also, what are the costs to Mississippi women? From state’s 2013-2016 maternal mortality review, 65% of pregnancy-related deaths were after repeat c-sections (32% vaginal, 3% first c-section). Tracks with high rate of c-sections overall here, but not all are medically necessary.
