This thread raises questions being asked in Egypt after the latest NYTimes piece on a supposedly leaked call by an Egyptian colonel to media figures about what to say on Jerusalemhttps://twitter.com/Samueltadros/status/950418106916188160 …

Not really surprised by the mounting evidence that @nytimes story on Egyptian TV hosts is fake. This is not the first time that MB/Qatari sources have played the Times for propaganda purposes and the Times has willingly complied

Yeah, it doesn't offer that much insight, ignores much of what was written and the actual phone calls.. https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=10159700069225386&id=763825385 …

But isn't it possible that someone did call Azmy identifying himself as this colonel, but isn't actually a colonel or this colonel?

That is possible but how likely is it? Megahed constantly receives orders, he would be able to identify him, also confronted with the leaked call, he could have been alerted. Also doesn't explain Hassassien first agreeing then backing down.

At the same time it remains possible because there is no end to Megahed's idiocy anyway.. so it seems possible..
