Once again, a dim says something they believe, it backfires, they apologize. It’s all cool, my bad. No harm, no foul.

A genuine apology is a whole lot better than following up "He's not a hero. I like people who weren't captured" with "Hes yet another all talk, no action politician who spends too much time on television and not enough time doing his job" instead of apologizing.

It's called remorse and people with empathy actually possess that. You should try it sometime.

I like SNL. But Pete crossed a line with this "joke". I am glad he apologized. Whether you agree or disagree with Crenshaw's political stance, he fought for our country and should be honored for that.

I understand, thus my comment. We don't see a lot of apologies nowadays.

Ya know, Pete's joke a week ago was in poor taste & mean and I'm glad he made a public apology for it, but why are we holding a late night comedian to a higher standard than we hold our supposed POTUS? Trump insults people every damned day and he never, ever apologizes.

Both of them deserve a pat on the back. They both bowed to better angels. I am saddened this is now the exception instead of the rule but well done by both. #neverforget

That could not have been handled any better on @DanCrenshawTX's part. He didn't fly off the handle, or go to Twitter to bitch about how unfairly he was being treated by "unfunny SNL". He handled it like a true gentleman. Bravo for rising above the hate and divisiveness.

Just in case anyone cares, the proper abbreviation for a US Navy Lieutenant Commander is LCDR. This skit was great though.
