That is not how "almost certainly" works. The authors showed that Oumuamua, which has the surface area of a stadium, is being pushed by solar radiation as if it was as thin as a fingernail. It's moving like a lightsail. What makes you "almost certain" that was created naturally?

Big claims demand big evidence and that just isn't present.
-
The "big claim" -- the whole reason for the paper -- is that the thing's unusual motion is because it's acting like a lightsail. If correct, that would be inexplicable under current science. Automatically throwing out explanations because we don't like them isn't scientific.
-
It's more likely a natural phenomenon that hasn't been examined sufficiently because of the unique nature of the event. "If correct" is a huge qualifier. It has nothing to do with whether I like it or not, but what is likely and what is not based on evidence.

I agree that, in general, everything observed is "more likely" a natural phenomenon than evidence of alien life, given the absence of evidence of the latter. But Occam's Razor doesn't help you here: we don't even have theories for how giant lightsails could be created naturally.
-
Disagree. The simplest solution is the right one here, as it is with most claims of galactic garbage items being aliens probes. ET isn't surfing a rock with lightsails to come visit anytime soon. Sorry!pic.twitter.com/xrH8BXozdd

The claim of it being a "probe" is purely speculative. The claim of it acting like a lightsail isn't speculative, it's the current best explanation for its movement. What's your "simple" explanation for a "natural" lightsail the size of a stadium and width of a fingernail?
-
“It’s a very thin rock” would be a simple explanation.

TFW when you try to refute a Harvard study and you're a climate writer with no receipts.

Indeed. Probably an Emerson grad.

That’s what the aliens want you to think. It’s like a giant duck blind.

Honestly, this article is as bad as the breathless article that supports this theory in the first place.
