U.S. soybean sales to China are down 94% as retaliatory tariffs stemming from Trump's trade war have Chinese consumers turning to less expensive trading partners, the NYT reports.https://www.axios.com/us-soybean-china-94-percent-trump-trade-war-7771075e-bfb5-4ef2-aae1-c51c5d64331c.html?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=organic …

Soybeans are a commodity with a finite supply at any given time. Divert stocks from one source and other buyers/ sellers will fill the void. Very simplistic view of markets

Logistics and supply chains do limit ability to replace lost sources, true. Same applies to oil where Saudis can increase production to replace lost elsewhere but moving it around becomes a problem.

Trump and his big fat corrupt ego have totally screwed this country. It will take a long time for the world stage to trust our country.

Tofu and cooking oil in China must be more expensive, and soy bean farmers in the U.S. lost a great deal. A loss- loss, thanks to Trump.

Thanks to China, US products have been blocked from their markets for decades, while they enjoyed unfettered access to ours. If Mexico can make a deal, so can China, and after a year of stone walling they finally are. So where is China buying their soybeans now? And can these new suppliers replace 100% of what they used to buy from us? And how much more are the Chinese paying for soybeans? I can't imagine their tariffs aren't making their food more expensive.

Wait! I thought Trumptanic said there was no trade war. China will slap a 94% tariff on sushi rice. Japanese sushi restaurants will collapse world wide. Donnie 'anchor baby' Jr. and Kimmy G. will have to find a new cuisine. Tacos and burritos are definetly out for DonKiy.
