In a federal trial starting today, the Trump administration will defend the addition of this question to the 2020 census: "Is this person a citizen of the United States?"https://www.axios.com/trump-admin-heads-to-trail-over-2020-census-citizenship-question--030aabe4-0f17-4235-b4a2-dd791437d2d7.html?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=organic&utm_content=1100 …

The purpose of the census is to determine how many citizens are in the nation and Democrats are going to court to stop the census. Unreal. Democrats are batcrap crazy.

They use the resident not citizen count to get more tax money and more representation in the house of reps

Trump should win. States like CA are gonna lose money if you count only citizens. Supreme Court in the 70s said the states had an obligation to educate illegal immigrant children. They justify counting residents not citizens for school money

The citizenship question is so central to any country’s census that the UN recommends it. Something the lefties at Axios and other media on the left won’t mention. #census #BeInformedpic.twitter.com/Ar9MXpYirs

I'm sure the Supreme Court will do the Republicans bidding once again, but there should be no doubt that the question will make the census inaccurate and therefore is unconstitutional.

why would it make census inaccurate? What is the suit merit? There is absolutely no meaningful reason for this suit And don't forget that there are millions of GC holders - legal residents who are not citizens.

No. Every person must still be counted by statute. If people choose to flaunt the census statute that's on them.

Good question it should be on the census. One of the main purposes of the census is to see how many "citizens" live in a particular area. It effects how much each state receives in federal funding.
