In an exclusive interview for "Axios on HBO," Trump said that he has run the idea of ending birthright citizenship by his counsel. "It was always told to me that you needed a constitutional amendment. Guess what? You don't," Trump said.https://www.axios.com/trump-birthright-citizenship-executive-order-0cf4285a-16c6-48f2-a933-bd71fd72ea82.html?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=twsocialshare&utm_campaign=organic …

Ending birthright citizenship would be the most dramatic move yet in Trump's hardline immigration campaign, this time targeting "anchor babies" and "chain migration." And it will undoubtedly set off another stand-off with the courts.https://www.axios.com/trump-birthright-citizenship-executive-order-0cf4285a-16c6-48f2-a933-bd71fd72ea82.html?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=organic …

Few immigration and constitutional scholars believe it is within the president's power to change birthright citizenship. But some conservatives argue that the 14th Amendment has been misapplied for decades.https://www.axios.com/trump-birthright-citizenship-executive-order-0cf4285a-16c6-48f2-a933-bd71fd72ea82.html?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=organic …

Let me repeat. The order is unconstitutional. The 14th Amendment (or any Amendment) cannot be altered by executive order. Takes 2/3 majority both houses or a convention of the states. Let the SOB try it.

Further, this is red meat for his base only.
-
Are you saying that there is no possible way he gets cert on this?
-
He would have to blatantly defy the constitution and the courts. Anything is possible, but he wouldn’t get away with it.
-
It would go to the courts and ultimately SCOTUS. Don’t bet your house on that court.
-
True - they’ll offer Kavanaugh a beer. He likes beer.

Distraction tactic...

No, I think he will try to end birthright citizenship through executive order. Do you think that is too crazy for him to try?

I didn't see where you asked him about the Russian citizenship mills he is running out of his Florida condos. These people fly here, stay 3-5 months in his condos, birth their babies and leave with a US citizen baby. Reconcile that with his rhetoric. Make him answer it.

I was thinking about this old news. I was wondering if it was fake news or real. I’m glad you mention it..
-
It is real. It includes medical care and specialized maternity services.

He better run this idea past Putin, first. Thousands of pregnant Russian women come to the USA & stay months in Trump properties awaiting their child's birth. Could Trump be directly profiting from this?https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/birth-tourism-brings-russian-baby-boom-miami-n836121 …
