If you find yourself making political statements into the same direction again and again, you are stuck in the trenches of a culture war. A trench is probably the position that offers the most amount of action, but the least amount of agency and perspective.

I mention this because it's utterly overthrown my brain. IMO, the "duty" to make oneself an acceptably uniform component of the modern social system is one of the most powerful forces of destruction on the planet, and the sublimation of exceptional desires is part and parcel

no math before ~11yo because math that is taught in the first several grades is trivial and, instead of spending years on it, the children should do something they are good at (learning languages) and then learn it all in like 2 weeks when they're ready

I think the confusion about the Hard Problem of Consciousness results from people's intuition that they live in the physical world, not in a software simulation. It is not hard to see how software can represent the illusion of being a person, and how software can move your body.

Newton's famous equation F=ma is often presented without much discussion or motivation. In these notes I discuss: "Why does F = ma?"

Repeatedly we find that any important problem from math or physics which we consider to be outside geometry/topology has a hidden geometrical nature to it. And there are only so many times you fall for that before you start to see geometry absolutely everywhere.

Update: is sort of operational. You can pick a paper (e.g. search in semanticscholar , take the id, paste it in my website and it gets you all relevant systematic revs or meta-analysis that cited that paper)

“Belonging” is a positive-sum framing of “status” People understand their need for belonging, but get queasy around—or flat out deny—their need for status
