    "for every dollar the federal government has spent, the private sector has invested $21 on those initiatives." Companies should invest the full $22 themselves! When pressed, many of these corps admit they don't *need* taxpayer handouts. They just take them b/c they're on offer!

    Outstanding work by my Quebec colleague who single-handedly compiled a sunshine list of government employees by filing thousands of FOI requests. Taxpayers deserve this kind of transparency about how their tax dollars are spent!

    I’m sure he/they were genuinely taken aback at the response. Doesn’t *everybody* think the media should take instruction from a wise and enlightened gov’t, which would after all be run by wise and enlightened people like themselves? Who could oppose such an obviously sound idea?
