convo i had with coworkers (who all travelled internationally 100+ days a year) after reading this article: we are all likely to get it...lots of unknowns re health impacts but our current work situation makes it almost impossible to avoid infection

I distinctly remember reading this article when it was first published & discussing it with some co-workers. It was the first piece that really cemented my understanding of the seriousness and inevitable impact of the virus.

I remember when Merkel said she estimated 60-70% of people would get it, I felt fear. Not thinking the overwhelming majority will survive.

Dr Nancy Messonnier deserves the most credit. She was the first truth teller. Sounding the alarm in February 2020 only to be crushed by Trump and others for doing so. Well, not crushed. She actually ignored all of them and carried on with her message.
