Chorus isn’t just a CMS—it’s an engine of success for newsrooms, in a year (decade! century!) when we desperately need more support for journalism. Come join a team that believes in making a difference, and has the skills, experience, and resources to pull it off.

“Iran was ‘within days’ of attacking US interests.” “Hussein intensifies quest for A-bomb parts.” After sheer terror, the strongest emotional response I have to the news of late is deja vu.

This doesn't even factor in the extractive industries that make computers possible or the utter shitshow of electronics scrap recycling. Ultimately yes, blaming consumers is dumb when you *could* be taking on the system that insists that people mainly have agency as consumers

Probably also more worthy of interrogation than your Netflixing is the energy consumed for the sake of like, dropping loads of gross adtech javascript into every browser experience

More important than your personal Netflix consumption, for instance, is the fact that platforms like Google Cloud ant AWS actively court & work with oil and gas companies to improve extraction performance/operations

Because that clickbaity headline has been making the rounds on my timeline/among people I think are reasonably smart on this stuff: - Big Think is/always has been trash - Obviously telling consumers not to Netflix for the planet is dumb - Also computation does affect the planet
