If you asked people in Chinatown, what they want from the local police? They want *more* foot patrols more police cams, *more* progress on investigations, *more police presence*. 9/
We already have a reform-minded District Attorney in @chesaboudin who is focused on ending mass incarceration, changing how we conduct prosecutions and already done incredible things such as ending cash bail. 19/

SF needs to expand the resources of the Homeless Outreach Team and the mobile crisis team so that residents stop calling the police to respond to problems that they're really not trained for or meant to deal with. 21/

And finally, (the hardest part) we need to strengthen the bonds within neighborhoods and communities so that no one ever feels alone or that they can't call for help. So that tensions never devolve to the point where a riot is ever a possibility. 22/

Like always, if San Francisco can be reconcile all these competing needs, it'll be a model for cities to follow in terms of community policing, criminal justice reform, and community organizing. A model that will make sure that another George Floyd never happens again. 25/25
