I hear you there - I would much prefer legalization and taxation. But in the meantime, we could prevent them from congregating on the streets, leaving needles and mayhem in their wake. New York accomplished this in the 90s. This can be accomplished again - with proper policy.

Fentanyl is mostly legal, and is used in most of our hospital operating rooms, many dental surgery centers, and even available by prescription. The majority of the drugs we criminalize most heavily are non-toxic and non-addictive.

100%. Reschedule psychedelics (in process) and marijuana (already done), and keep harder penalties for opiates and things that kill.
