Back in junior high in the early 90s my friend @SaraL4man and I buried a time capsule of sorts in a coffee canister behind her house. Years later, we dug it up.

It held an assortment of junk that was just corny (feminine hygiene products, oh the hilarity!) and random. A troll doll. Notes with jokes we no longer remembered. Etc. But there were two things in the capsule that tantalized us.

They were rolls of film. Neither of us remembered what was on these rolls. I tried at one point to take them to a Ritz Camera, but they wouldn’t develop them. The seal on our capsule was no good, and mud had gotten in. So the rolls have sat in my nightstand for years.

And so here’s the question. Today is my friend’s birthday, and I really would love to give her these pics as a gift. Anyone have a photographer friend who might be willing to develop these old muddy rolls of film that lived underground for years?

I will pay (a reasonable amount of) money if there’s anything to be found here. Anyone want to help me solve this little mystery?

I’d love to help! Do you know what kind of film it is and how old it possibly is?

Wow, thanks, Eric! It’s from the early 90s. Definitely not 35 mm — I had one of those junky cheapo cameras back in the day. Shall I bring it to work tomorrow, and you can have a laugh at the filthy crap I keep for years on end? 😀
