I’ve been listening to @teganandsara’s discography recently, and I realized today The Con will be 10 years old next year. Wow.

So here’s an interesting story about that album and how it changed my life, basically.

I was a high school sophomore on a trip to Walmart with my mom when I saw The Con sitting in the music section. The artwork caught my eye.

I’d only heard one
@teganandsara song, but I picked up the record anyway. I had some cash I’d earned from mowing the lawn — so I bought it.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

I really had no idea what to expect when I put the CD in my stereo when I got home, but I loved it at first listen. It was different.

I listened to it over and over and over. I played it all the time. The songs struck a chord with high school me.

It was because of The Con that I became a
@teganandsara fan. A year or so later, I met@andashleysayss,@NotSynthetica and@SoundsofSilver.2 replies 0 retweets 1 like -

They liked Tegan and Sara, too. We bonded and became really, really good friends. We've been best friends for like seven years now.

(We all went to the same HS, btw. Forgot to mention that.) But all of this arguably happened because I picked up a CD in a Walmart in 2007.

I think that's neat. So thanks,
@teganandsara, for introducing me to some cool people who later became my best friends. That's the story.0 replies 0 retweets 2 likesThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
