At first we naively believed Formal Verification would be just like another integration test that we would run automatically in our GitHub repo after every change. Instead reverifying a new piece of code can be as expensive and complex as a manual audit!

This is the year of great Ethereum books! Camilla Russo’s “The infinite machine” book releases in June and now Matt claims cracked the DAO hack case!

I have converted the list of vulnerable addresses to Blockies for your convenience. I find that if I've seen an address before, the icons triggers familiarity in my brain.

There are things that nobody should care about, but because a few people care about them (in a bad way) then it matters a lot for those affected, we should all care about it (in a good way), until it’s something nobody cares and we then can all stop caring about it. Simple.

The suggestion that you should be able to vote *against* a project is very interesting. I suppose this could be done by donating money to the fund as a whole and signalling it should go to everyone *but* a specific project. Also would be good if the grants larger, but streamed.

Would like to see some old men sitting at a dinner table, bickering about politics of a truck union for four hours, and then taking eventual breaks to shoot random people? Then boy, you're going to love The Irish.

We had implemented our own contract accounts, spent some time trying to formally verify them and still had a long roadmap that would include at least two very expensive audits. Than realised we could simply go to our nice neighbours and take it all for free. I love open source.

Airbnb is a reverse escape room: it’s dark and you’re alone in a block full of identical soviet apartment buildings. Can you find the correct entrance, understand the instructions to get in the building and figure the code to the room? Quick, it’s 1°C and your battery is at 5%

If a user loses their password, doesn’t write down their seed phrase, doesn’t buy a hardware wallet or other of our arcane rituals, it’s a UX issue, not their fault, and they shouldn’t be blamed or made fun of. Private keys are a UX dead end, smart accounts are the future.

Donating small amounts to Gitcoin grants is a lot of fun, because you’re constantly multiplying your value. Often a $10 grant becomes a $100 or even $500 donation, thanks to the power of spending other people’s money via Quadratic funding. Very successful experiment! 👏

I might have discovered the most ridiculous looking but effective life hack: if you need to go into a dark room from a brigtly lit space (like say to put a toddler to nap) and you want to avoid the temporary blindness, put a pirate’s eye patch on for 5 minutes. I swear it works.

Not only about the prize, the cool aspect is to see what NFTs were captured or destroyed in the process, or even—if the contract supports it—damaged or somehow irreversibly changed. Battle arena with Kitties vs Punks, battling for a strip of decentraland? Can be built today.

For higher stake games, you can have the players sign messages during the session so we can reach the “last agreed upon state”. Rules can be enforced by humans by using Kleros or Aragon Court as final arbitrators.

At the end of the session the players all sign a message representing what was the distribution at the end, or if they fail to agree, let the arbitrator decide. It doesn’t even need to be fancy with on-chain rules: arbitrator can be as simple as a trusted “game server”

There’s an unexplored way in which you can use any ethereum collectible to play any game by using an escrow contract. Players simply lock all their equipment, characters, items, etc on an escrow contract, as well as whatever tokens represent the prizes and pick an arbitrator.
