My first ride on an electrically boosted bike was objectively better being faster and easier. And yet I felt far less satisfied than when I was solely responsible for my own slow performance. This is disturbingly representative of my general psychology.

When the zombie apocalypse hits and all the e-bikes stop working you will be happy that your personal satisfaction metric was a little more robust than the narrow "objective" metrics around speed/ease of a single ride.

I wonder if the feeling of personal satisfactions will survive the zombie transformation. Sure brains always taste great, but aren't they a little sweeter when you catch your own?
