How much of the homogeneity, constant memory use etc do you think are just indications of it being early days architecturally? I can imagine the same claims about, say, early 8 bit assembler programs, but things got more complex over time.

(By contrast, end-to-end optimization, and the "agility" around performance tradeoffs, do seem like properties that we'll be able to maintain going forward.)
