that's better when purely following a track but I'm worried it'll make it harder to "steer" at switches.
I assume your switches are software managed vs hardware for real tracks in use today? Wouldn't turning at front would be better for that?
software, yes. Suspect final design will involve a servo turning wheels at front + fixed driver at back.
e.g. want to turn right? Run left rear wheel slightly faster which pushes the front end to the right
I plan to try that with this design, yes - but skeptical about it being the best long term.
need to get the controller soldered up before I know, though - right now motors are wired right to battery.
could tie in two different resistors short-term as a quick test if that's faster
