I definitely think the greater abstraction makes the code less error-prone and more robust to modifications,

I'm not *as* convinced that it's also a lower cognitive load to get a first (buggy, incomplete) version typed up.

personally I tend to prioritize the former stuff but it's interesting to ask what I'd want if prioritizing the latter
