Any suggestions for a first sous-vide (and recipes)?
@mlmanapat I like my nomiku but sounds like anova is also good. Probably not a ton of differences.

@avibryant@mlmanapat I actually just got an Anova because it was on sale. *Way* quieter, circulator seems more powerful than the Nomiku -
@ebroder@avibryant and apparently it has bluetooth? (which i require of all my cooking instruments) -
@mlmanapat@avibryant There's one model with Bluetooth, one (newer, more expensive) with Wifi. We got the former -
@mlmanapat@avibryant It still has controls on it though (which was a dealbreaker for the new Chefsteps Joule for me) -
@mlmanapat@avibryant Oh right - the lack of a giant transformer brick is also a decided plus on the Anova. -
@ebroder@mlmanapat as for recipes, I've been enjoying recently doing pork shoulder in spice rub then crisp it up for carnitas. - End of conversation

@avibryant@mlmanapat what do you think of Joule? -
@starsandrobots@mlmanapat hard to think much of something a year away from shipping. I like the idea of the magnetic attachment though. -
@avibryant@starsandrobots@mlmanapat Joule's definitely shipping in May, so not a year away. Manufacturing already well under way.
