In my opinion, the ugliest part about Go (lang) is that you have to account for and discard loop indices e.g. "for _, item := range items"

@avibryant@rcoder@mattknox@ericflo was going to say same -
@matasar@avibryant@rcoder@ericflo Agreed that map/flatMap/getOrElse would be great. (So would pattern matching, fwiw.) I can dream. =/ -
@mattknox@matasar@avibryant@ericflo: not sure that pattern applies well w/o generics, at least for library code -
@rcoder@mattknox@avibryant@ericflo Which brings me to my least favorite things re: Go: lack of generics, worrying about race conditions. -
@matasar@mattknox@avibryant@ericflo: immutable collections do help w/race conditions but Scala programs are still plenty vulnerable there -
@rcoder@mattknox@avibryant@ericflo list of things I hate about scala is very long indeed -
@matasar@mattknox@avibryant@ericflo: a sure sign of increasing mastery of any language ;) -
@rcoder@matasar@avibryant@ericflo tell Chuck Moore that about forth. :) - 3 more replies
