@avibryant hey that reminds me, did your patches to get parquet working with cascading/hadoop2-mr1 on cloudera make it into parquet-mr? -
@sorenmacbeth@avibryant pretty sure@cascading now has a profile for hadoop2 that works with cdh4.x. required due to cls hierarchy changes. -
@esammer@sorenmacbeth@cascading yeah, those got in a long time ago. The only parquet-mr patch we haven't pushed upstream is scrooge writes -
@avibryant@esammer@cascading cools. I'm going to guess scrooge is something gross and scala related because I've never heard of it. -
@avibryant ah, a scala thrift codegen. I've been tempted to write something like this for clojure as well. -
@sorenmacbeth@avibryant@sritchie got started on this: https://github.com/sritchie/thrift-clj … but also this:https://github.com/xsc/thrift-clj -
@posco@avibryant@sritchie oh cool, I knew@sritchie was working on it but I didn't know the repo was public. - 4 more replies

@avibryant "@gfodor loader and enterprise messaging deathmatch"#etlinsixwords -
@mcfunley@avibryant the fodor loader sucks, was born out of anger, and should die out of anger -
@gfodor@avibryant as soon as someone groks what it does I'm sure it will -
@mcfunley@gfodor@avibryant in all fairness it _is_ deprecated
