I so regret choosing iBooks.
@marcprecipice I understand every step in this chain of reasoning, but I still feel like "[I] read fewer keeper books" is a perverse outcome

@avibryant for sure. I think DRM in ebooks is completely evil. (Great autocorrect: "ebooks" -> "Ebola") -
@avibryant that said, we've wandered: I tried to make iBooks okay despite all this, and I regret it. -
@marcprecipice@avibryant moving's kept me focused on keeping a light library, and ubiquitous availability less concerned about my keepers. -
@davidliammoran
@avibryant I wish I could agree on ubiquity, but every new format loses some greats. Eg, find Tampopo in post-DVD video. :( -
@marcprecipice @davidliammoran :((( I even had a digital rip of Tampopo at one point that I lost in a (laptop) move.

@avibryant@marcprecipice Obvious desired transaction: (1) buy ebook (2) if we find it to be a keeper, get hardcopy for small incremental $. -
@avibryant@marcprecipice I'd love an action to that effect at the end of ebook: "Enjoyed that? Order a paper version for your collection" -
@andrewcatton@marcprecipice this may play out instead as Oyster-like subscription to read it once, then pay full price for paper later.
