Very curious to see how long it is before someone outside Twitter has @summingbird in production. Awesome system, but a lotta moving parts.
. @squarecog @posco totally fair (and awesome that it is so decoupled). What I wonder about is use of the full batch/realtime hybrid mode.

@avibryant@squarecog@posco I wonder if the first use is@Summingbird as a Service, hosted on EC2? -
@sritchie@squarecog@posco@summingbird seems plausible, maybe with SQS + S3 as sources and DynamoDB as a store. -
@avibryant@sritchie@posco@summingbird I smell a million vc dollars. -
@squarecog@sritchie@posco@summingbird only one million? Better work in a few more buzzwords. Does summingbird run on mobile? -
@avibryant@squarecog@sritchie there have been email discussions of a coffeescript version. Will that help? -
@summingbird@squarecog@sritchie well, that would definitely have a big impact on your valuation.

@avibryant IMHO: Awhile. Batch by itself is a brain twister - no examples, manhattan deps, etc. https://github.com/dribnet/sumdroppings/blob/812061bc0895d82293a7b115833807abfb232497/wordcount/src/scala/WordStreamer.scala#L58 … PS: Great SL talk!Thanks. @avibryant@posco oh - yes. I think it is useful even if you just use the storm or scalding parts. And you have a way forward if ever neededThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
