@bitquabit but I can see how something like @roylangjs but for JVM would be appealing; a minimal FP lang that still respects the host env.

@avibryant That’s fair. I guess the attribute of Smalltalk I most appreciate is its size; Scala/C++ are huge. OCaml/Rust are at my limit. -
@avibryant Otherwise, I’m in a write-only language, where understanding what a line actually does involves paging in way too much backstory. -
@bitquabit yes, I'd rather Scala were a smallish subset of itself, but I'll note that the subset I would choose gets larger over time. -
@avibryant That’s true of any language. How you wanted me to write a Smalltalk Atom parser would be immediately inaccessible to a novice.
