@avibryant the game takes long enough as is...

@data_daddy it's not clear to me this would make it take longer. I can almost imagine it speeding things up. -
@avibryant Is the amended order from just the recent move phase or any past move phase? -
@data_daddy I think from any past move. But the farther back you go, the more likely you are to invalidate many of your later moves. -
@avibryant@data_daddy all events that have occurred after the splice assume that all other players did not react to the change in history? -
@aconbere I think@avibryant wants to replay moves as-is, filtering invalid ones; leaves a lot of no-ops? -
@data_daddy@aconbere right. You change the one order and then replay everything (with, indeed, many no-ops.. but Diplomacy always has that

@avibryant so none of the non-time-traveling moves are changed? What if I had ordered a state to attack but don't own it due to time travel? -
@noahlt that becomes an invalid order. Messing with the distant past is likely to completely screw you over. -
@avibryant so, then, can't I mess with the distant past & take a state whence you will have attacked me, then prevent you from attacking me? -
@noahlt of course. That's the kind of thing you'd be trying to do.
