Volvo XC90 is slowly getting more range, electric only in real world tests is still 20ish miles though.

My problem with the PHEV is less the all-electric range than it is the number of moving parts in the drivetrain. More things that can go wrong.

I have little faith in Tesla to make a good car at this point. They seem to suck at software and the tent manufacturing is appalling. I was rooting for the Audi EV, but looks like that will be too small as well. Seems like we're 4-5 years from good options + TBD on decent prices.

My Chevy Spark is a great local getting around town vehicle and the Bolt is a nice step in the right direction. I wonder if GM is getting it.

I also want a 7-seat EV SUV. I’d even consider a hybrid, if it had a plug-in (and could do city driving on electric only). Mitsubishi Outlander has a 7-seat model, but *not* on the Outlander PHEV.

Do you guys know what else is in the pipeline for 6-7 seats (I might prefer the 6 seat config)? It looks like everyone is starting with a 5 seat midsize SUV, which is weird to me because the 7 seat (little/no trunk) is the format that improves the most going EV (hood trunk).

I'm hoping that after Volvo does the announced fully-EV XC40 they'll eventually get around to an EV XC90 instead of just the PHEV they have now. But I've been keeping an eye out for anything here and the pipeline is grim.
