So far on Clubhouse @chesaboudin blamed SFPD, courts, poverty, COVID, the mayor, and even lack of a data analyst for why crime is bad in SF - everybody except himself.
In a team, you would fire anybody who won’t take responsibility.
In a city, you should do the same.

Credit where credit is due: he knows his numbers and can speak to the data. Impressed. If only he showed any sense of leadership and responsibility.

Takeaway: our justice system is deeply broken, the problems are deeply rooted and wicked, and
@chesaboudin is absolutely helpless to affect change. Fine, let’s elect someone who is less helpless.3 replies 1 retweet 31 likesShow this thread -
That someone, apparently, is
@NancyTungSF. I’ve never heard of her before but so far on Clubhouse it’s night and day compared to@chesaboudin.2 replies 0 retweets 27 likesShow this thread -

Nancy Tung 湯曉慧 @NancyTungSFHaving worked in the San Francisco DA's Office, I was both shocked and angered by the hit-and-run murders of Hanaka Abe and Elizabeth Platt. In this essay, I reflect on what went wrong, who is to blame, and how this tragedy shows what we have to lose. https://medium.com/nancyforsfda/its-time-for-some-accountability-in-the-district-attorney-s-office-b4cb2ce71ece …3 replies 1 retweet 13 likesShow this thread -
Replying to @blader
While there are reasons that
@chesaboudin can and must do better. It’s a combination of the process, lack of access to data due to legacy systems as you mentioned. But the biggest part of it is having extreme ownership and being a agent of change that was missing.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

Yeah I am in strong agreement. Not dismissing the complexity of the problems, but you can’t solve them if you don’t take ownership. We deserve better than a DA who exhibits learned helplessness a year into the job.

Also I have to ask if the support system he has enables this blame game so no one is held accountable ala London breed
