Imagining a novel about a tyro sf writer in the mid-1950s who never quite manages to get published, even though *we* know that he predicts *everything* correctly. His work is rejected as (1) implausible (2) unfunny (3) crushingly banal.

Novel ends with our realization that prediction is easy, and everybody does it. What's hard is writing something that makes people change the future we all see coming.
