And then, as you and many others have noted, does game violence cause violent behavior? Or does someone who is more likely to be violent drawn to those games, and then perhaps exacerbated by the content? (I suspect the latter)

it certainly doesn't CAUSE it, but the content can contribute to a culture that condones and ripens and exacerbates it for sure

It is a tough dilemma. As a counselor, I'm always in search of a solution(s). There is not an easy answer. Censoring content isn't practical. Identifying potential for violence is difficult at best. Education is good but harder to measure outcomes.

The most violence-inducing game I have ever seen HAS to be Dig-Dug, which caused my wife - while playing it - to swear profusely and throw things. She had until then NEVER done either, nor has done since.
