Yup. I got ridiculously sick w/ old tech. Don't get sick at all on well designed 6DOF tech. Can go for hours

FWIW, I’ve done between 400-500 demos and have only had 1 person who felt bad. Probably 2:1 male:female ratio.
-
I guess this is part of my confusion. I hear wildly varying statistics. I can't find good data, is the tech just changing too fast?
-
Lots of people didn’t differentiate between mobile w/out translational tracking, which makes many people sick and desktop setups.

I think the idea is that the abhorrent behavior of men in shared VR space will drive women away long before the motion sickness does.

I'm not an evangelist, but did see a highly credentialled London start-up that is working on solution to this.

We don’t really know why women get sim sickness more commonly, figuring that out is first.

Problems with (walking/running) VR motion sickness will be solved once omni-treadmills are mainstream. I'd tell people to focus there.

Rony Abovitz
@rabovitz over at Magic Leap has a pretty compelling POV about the health problems with VR (it's reportedly why he started ML). -
So maybe he'd have a POV on why women could have a higher incidence of negative reactions than men.

Ugh, this sounds bad. I get queasy during 3D movies.

From what i've seen the early VR evans despise sickness inducing concepts. Artificial movement (other than teleport) is a no no.
