@avantgame I can say for sure this works and I've used it as a technique for awhile. Generally prefer puzzle games as they work best!

@JillianLaura can you tell me a particular game you've had success with? how long to play til craving passed? what kind of craving? -
@avantgame Play 2-4 levels, and I'm able to think clearly again and focus on work at hand. Easier to close time sucking apps and windows! -
@JillianLaura fascinating!! thank you :) -
@avantgame No problem. Not sure if that counts as a legitimate craving, but it's my worst behavior + a solution. Good luck w/your research! -
@JillianLaura oh I'm sure it absolutely does!! i love the idea of fighting digital with digital, very fresh and very relevant to many people

@avantgame Seems like people have always used the distraction tactic in one way or another. Or is it that games make better distractions? -
@MikeRiverso READ THE ARTICLES LINKED!! :) it's visual-spatial blocking of mental imagery of what you're craving -
@avantgame Makes sense. So because games are engaging, they block other imagery.

@avantgame This often works for me if I am stuck on a level. If I am breezing through, it isn't distracting enough to reset brain.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@avantgame Isn't this just really about distracting yourself for a few minutes, to help you forget the craving until it hits again?Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
