Whenever I get a last-minute invitation to speak at a tech conference, I click to see other speakers, and 9/10 times there are no women.

@avantgame and for other tech talks, is the ratio better? No excuse, just curious how endemic it is.

@nfalstein when I am invited in a timely fashion there are usually more women on agenda, it doesn't feel like a last-ditch effort

@avantgame @nfalstein On the bright side, at least someone is noting that 0 women speaking is a problem. Would be nice if Sony caught on.

@oltyan @avantgame another interpretation: conferences w/women speakers are better organized!

@avantgame Jane, you'd love this new campaign, asking men on those panels to be an ally to shift this... http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2013/01/a-simple-suggestion-to-help-phase-out-all-male-panels-at-tech-conferences/266837/ …

@avantgame you should base your speaking rates on the ratio of maker to female speakers. :-)
