We need a new word to describe the phenomenon of feeling depressed and trapped inside by toxic air quality due to fires. Like cabin fever, but not a fever... a malaise. Smokesick? Whatever it is, I have it. Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, San Francisco... how do we cope?

The opposite of hygge as not a chosen state in the summer to be inside & less active. Also contributing to mood is the lack of sun blocked by the smoke. We are under a pettifog murk.

YES. I was thinking the same thing actually... wondering if we could "hygge" our way through it and pretend we're holed up inside to be cosy from the dark winter instead of the smoke summer
