Tonight is the Oscars. New films to celebrate. But, Friday night was the Governors Awards. Legends to salute. Samuel L. Jackson, Elaine May, Liv Ullman and Danny Glover. Really beautiful event. Their extraordinary speeches and career reels hit my heart. Felt truly inspired.

Eight directors. Four cameras. Many stories. Good laughs.

“It’s about the joy of making something.” Movie fans don’t get shows like this, especially ones this cool & nerdy that drop you in a scene as the director explains how it came to be. Kudos to & for creating this. Everyone go watch it on HBOMax. We need more!

4 episodes into the series on and it’s so good. Enjoying the insights of the directors and introductions to key members of their production teams. Not just a celebration of movies, but movie-making itself. Finally, is a treasure. 2nd season please.

Caught the first episode of 's and HBO Max's show. It really reminded me of why I want to make films. Hearing Patty Jenkins talk about Superman the Movie being a film that made her feel like the world was still okay after her father's death resonated with me

This Kasi Lemmons episode on One Perfect Shot has me so emotional. Harriet and Eve’s Bayou are one of my favorite movies, Cynthia is one of my favorite actors and the way they are talking about this film has me caught up!

I was watching thinking "I really should wait & watch this with spouse" but enjoying myself too much to stop. Then the Michael Mann Heat intro happened & I am quietly turning off the show because if I watch this without spouse it could lead to divorce.

on is GREAT! It’s not just about the indelible shot. It’s about the filmmaker’s personal connections as ambassadors of the story & how key craftsmen helped orchestrate that vital vision. Teared up & was tickled listening to & ’s stories

This looks so good and one of my favorite things about it is that it focuses on talented filmmakers from a variety of identities (including historically excluded ones) talking about their CRAFT.
