“Resisting arrest” is rarely a thing that actually happens. But it is a routine claim that officers make to justify brutal, unnecessary violence. Without video like this, however, prosecutors & judges rarely question the officers’ word. Somehow, they still get benefit of doubt.

Police also know that you're now allowed to *just* charge resisting. You have to also have a "lawful arrest" to accompany it (i.e. something that a person was actually allegedly resisting). So they also wind up inventing bogus charges on top of it. Usually disorderly conduct.

All the cops stood there & watched that young man being assaulted for no reason & it appears none of them had enough integrity to tell their superiors in January when it happened. They should all be fired. "One bad apple" is BS. They all went along with it.
-
People forget that what ‘one bad apple spoils the bunch’ means. It actually means that rot spreads throughout. Throw the whole damn thing out.

They know they have bodycam but have been beating and shooting Black folk at will for so long they can’t ‘help’ themselves. They should be fired and not allowed to quit.
-
They know they can wear the bodycam, still do this, and still not be held to account!

When people tell me about the “good cops” I wonder if they mean the ones standing around doing nothing as this young man is assaulted?
-
Even worse is that they knew full well the police report regarding the young man's arrest was false, but they went along with it anyway.
