First go at a meta/fluid/whatever reading list: The Listening Society In Over Our Heads Seeing Nature In the Cells of the Eggplant (once it exists!) Reinventing Organisations Seeing That Frees The Social Singularity An Immanent Metaphysics The Evolving Self Thinking in Systems

forget reading. practice. contemplate. introspect. worth 10k books.
-
Do you think everything that these people have to say about society and metanarratives is the kind of meme that is in danger of overlapping the experience of pure awareness? Even if it is, at some point if changes are to be made in society, it’s helpful to articulate them.
-
I'm not denigrating that other stuff. It can be helpful. I'm saying: eat dinner before dessert. Training in awareness has the ability to pacify kleshas. This is pure gold. And unlike a lot of so-called spiritually, it isn't some myth.
-
If you want to be helpful to society, like a physician, you must do some training in order to have something to offer. Good intentions are insufficient.

Would add 'Networkologies' to the list. Also have you read Imanent Metaphysics? That book is a trip.
-
I have, like many of these books, had it on strong recommendation from minds I respect, and cracked the book open at least a few pages, made an attempt at reading, and then closed it, realizing it needs my fullest attention and thus must go into the queue...
-
Is Effective Choice on your radar? I was recommended to read it before Immanent Metaphysics. It's a lot more digestible, too, as it's a collection of aphorisms that can be read in any order.

I suspect It'll take me a while to get through all of them, and longer to ingest their full meaning. What are the stickers for?
-
A reminder.
